Old Bay is very similar to a masala. The code3spice rubs are sugar based. I agree with cutting back on the Old Bay.

Sort of, yes. And right, the code3spice rubs contain more sugar but while there's significantly more salt in the Old Bay, I realized that the sodium (not salt) content of Old Bay is actually only slightly higher than the Rescue Rub. The sodium component of salt has a distinct effect on the tastebud even though the perception of "saltiness" may not be present. The type of salt used (crystal size, shape, etc.) has a lot to do with the perception of saltiness as well. Originally Posted by IMGreat101

I got my cup in a couple of days ago. It's a little too tall for the Keurig but I will figure a way around that. I like it! Maybe I'll be able to do some cooking this weekend with the spices.

I made chicken today with 5-0 rub. It was good but not as good as the rescue on the chicken. I also made home Mac and cheese with 5-0 and it was freaking good

Tomorrow's dinner. One whole chicken rubbed with Rescue rub and sitting overnight in the fridge. Tomorrow morning it will go into the crock pot all by its lonesome on low throughout the day for a crock pot rotisserie-esque style dinner.

The Backdraft Candied Jalapeno slices were a bit hot. I was banking on the store bought peppers would not be so hot, but they were. The flavor before the heat was great. These almost had a buttery sweetness, then the blast furnace hit. Next time the seeds and membrane will be taken out.
First batch of 5-0 Bacon Crispie Treats are in the fridge. I used nutella in this.
