    Cocktails

Ok, post your favorite cocktails, either your own creation or established faves.

I made this one the other day, it's probably been done before but I like reinventing the wheel.

    Pineapple Upside Down Cake
    Unsweetened pineapple juice (three parts)
    Cake Vodka (one part)
    Caramel Vodka (one part)
Maraschino Cherry juice or Grenadine (splash)
    Cherry garnish

Mix according to taste and desired level of drunkenness, either shaken or on the rocks. It honestly tastes and smells exactly like pineapple upside down cake.

    Now that sounds yummy!

    I still do my Masonjarita©

    Sweet and Sour mix

    2.5 cups splenda
    4 cups water
    1 cup realemon
    1 cup realime
    1/2 cup orange juice
    1/2 cup key lime juice

    1 glass of ice
    1/4 tequila
    1/3 sweet and sour mix
    1/4 triple sec
    (adds up close enough)

You can salt the rim and garnish with lime. Serve with Mexican style dips and chips.

Amaretto sour when I used to drink. When the bar doesn't have Amaretto, I settle for a Whiskey sour or sometimes just a sangria.

Mix and consume, repeat as needed.

I really enjoy scotch, a 12-18 year single malt is what u gravitate to with no particular preference to the region of origin

    Another single malt aficionado here….

Apparently, Mrs TZ22 feels that 14 or 15 different ones on the go at any one time is excessive.

I point her to the handbags and shoe racks in the wardrobes but apparently that is different???

Any particular scotch that you recommend? I haven't tried anything new lately.

My tastes are mainly for Northern, Western and Islay malts.

Current faves are Highland Park ( Orkney ) Jura and Talisker ( Western Isles ) Laophraig and Bruichladdach ( Islay ) and Glenmorangie ( East Coast )

Glenmorangie do a variant called Quinta Ruban - it's only a 12 year old but it's finished off in Port casks - it is so smooth it's unreal and I've just run out…… off to the shops this weekend.

I'm lucky enough to live close to this little bit of heaven The Lincoln Whisky Shop - fantastic single malt whiskies and blends, whisky books, whisky decanters, whisky glasses, whisky gifts, hip flasks, plus selected English wines, fortified wines, cordials, meads, aperitifs, digestifs & a wide range of cockt

As an aside, if you fancy a nice after dinner liqueur with a malt taste, try this Bruadar Liqueur 70cl from The Lincoln Whisky Shop - malt, honey and sloes, absolutely delightful….

I had a chance to try some ice wine recently while on a trip. Man... I love it. Sweet, but not overwhelmingly sweet like Port or some Tawny's. Almost like a bit of plum wine but different texture.

I am starting with that one. Just ordered it, just under $60 USD including shipping and insurance. Now to wait three days...

How do you drink your scotch? Over ice, chilled or room temperature?

That's cheaper than I can go out and buy it from a local supermarket!!!

As to how I drink it, the only thing to add to a dram is usually another dram but a little chilled water goes nicely too.

Let me know what you think of it when it arrives.

Will do. My friend who considers himself a scotch connoisseur says that this is also one of his all time favorites. And he told me that they do sell it locally. Could a saved on shipping and wait time.
