    Turkey Fries!

It is similar to cooking chicken,' Mr Lovell told the Northwest Herald. 'The biggest comparison we get is they [taste] like a deep fried mushroom. Anything breaded and deep fried can't be bad.'

He said the breaded morsels taste best with ranch dressing or Tabasco sauce, with it otherwise described as having little taste.

Can't say I've even specifically seen this portion of the bird when dressing 1 out. But I have had plenty of mountain oysters over the years. I prefer them dipped in gravy; just like chicken gizzards.

They're just okay IMO, I'm not crazy about the texture. The first time we cooked them we did one batch with a panko breading, one with flour/cornmeal mixture, and one with just flour. Of the three, I think the panko breading was more interesting. The bulk of the flavor you get with turkey fries comes from the breading and the oil.

I have eaten them years ago. They were just OK. Lamb fries are better.

This thread got me curious and I started googling the subject. Look what I found regarding location and removal of said turkey testicles:

Where are turkey testicles located on the turkey

Where are turkey testicles located on the turkey?
    In: Turkeys [Edit categories]
    Answer:
A little-known fact is that turkey testicles are found under the bird's left wing instead of behind their legs.
Turkey testicles are slightly larger than human testicles.

I'm thinking Turkey testicles are bigger than those of most of our current administration.

I chose panko and corn meal as breadings. The egg wash and the flour was seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic.

The fries are rinsed and patted dry.
    Aren't they beautiful!

    Breaded and ready to fry!
    Panko

    Corn meal

    Fried @ 375 for about 15 minutes.
These tended to splatter a bit. If you have a fry screen, use it. We put newspaper on the floor.

    Hot nuts!

The dipping sauces, Ranch, Wasabi Mayo, Hot Sauce.

    Presentation

The smell of the turkey fries cooking is very similar to gizzards. The flavor of the turkey fries is nondescript. The consistency is like a fried mushroom, maybe a little more tender. I would chose the panko over the corn meal with this. The sauces were all a great choice.
Overall this was not bad if you can get past what you are consuming. If the opportunity came up again, I will pass.
