I have the top one on my personal M4. It is solid, but a bit heavy. It also is too long, won't allow for rear flip up sights. I suppose they thought the rifle sights on top would be sufficient, but they are not good. The battery cover needed a vice grip to remove it coming from the factory, which, after reading other reviews was a common problem.

For a plinker or hunting it works great. I wouldn't use it for duty though, and only because you can't put a rear fip-up (back-up) sight with it. The bottom one, being more compact would probly be better. I had a Bushnell Holo-sight for a couple years, which is basically an Eo-tech without the aluminum shroud (made by same people) and that worked great.
