I thought we had upgraded from batons to things more effective like......

    TASER! TASER! TASER!
"We're surrounded. That simplifies the problem."
    Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller, USMC

If your enemy is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. If sovereign and subject are in accord, put division between them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.

Being the best is not what always counts. What counts is always trying your best.

Remember who you are, and where you came from. That way you never get a big head.

May those that lost their lives in 9-11 RIP, for the things you did not many could do. You left so many behind so that you could save so few. For now we stand strong as one, and will not look back till the fight is done. (me)

I carry the Taser and an Asp baton.

The Taser definitely commands more respect from suspects right now, but that's because not enough of them have taken a full force blow to the shin from a baton.

Seriously, The Taser is better for people who aren't responding to pain stimulus (if the barbs hit) because of the involuntary muscle contraction.
