Who Else Out There Is Alone Today?
My wife and kids went to Colorado to spend Thanksgiving with family. I am spending the day watching football and eating day-old pizza (all the good food joints are closed and I refuse to cook). It's lonely, but kinda nice to have a quiet house. Anyone else out there who is working for the holiday and spending it alone........shout out. I am, however, looking forward to Christmas. First time in thirteen years I will have Christmas off (unless of course the boss decides he needs it instead, in which case I will get screwed again). Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and have a beer on me.....I have to work. Peace and be safe!

Working the day, then traveling to the parents tonight. Long day, but I get the weekend with family. And Shepards we shall be,
for thee, My Lord, for thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy Command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls will it ever be.

Happy thanksgiving, Nite! I'm alone here too, but it's all good. I'm gonna go to the grocery store and buy some mashed potatoes and chicken then watch the Cowboys move into first place. I think I'm gonna go see Casino Royale tonight, too.
I'm just enjoying the down time and looking forward to Christmas!

I'm also working today while my wife is eating turkey at the relatives. It's leftovers for dinner for me. I have to work Christmas this year too. I had both off last year so I can't complain.

Hey Nite, I am alone too. My wife took the kid to southern Missouri for a family dinner. I am working mids so I was sleeping most of the day. I did not want to go to bed at 730am and then have to get up at 1000am to make the long ride down there. No one was willing to push up the dinner time, so here I am watching football and eating a budget gourmet.

The man who will go where his colors go, without asking who will fight a phantom foe in the jungle and mountain range, without counting, and who will suffer and die in the midst of incredible hardship, without complaint, is still what he has always been, from Imperial Rome to sceptered Britain to democratic America. He is the stuff of which legions are made. ...His pride is in his colors and his regiment, his training hard and thorough and coldly realistic, to fit him for what he must face...and his obedience is to his orders. But I'm off for X-MAS this year, to all my American counterparts, i wish you a very safe and happy thanksgiving, and when ya think your alone, don't cuz someones probably thinking of you. Gop out to your backyard and look up and because no matter how far away family is they are looking at that same sky, so their never that far away. STAY SAFE everyone.Giggity giggity Goo!

I feel for you guys. I'm here by myself also. I'm not LEO but retired F/F. It's been three years now so I'm kinda used to it.
Most people have no idea what kind of hours we put in (both of us) or the conditions we do it in. One example is during hurricanes if you live in Florida. There is nothing worse than being stuck at work and wondering what is going on at your house especially if you are single like me or not being able to be with your family.
Happy Thanksgiving to each and everyone of you...
