    Pain Train

    Here's the workout I did last night. Thought I'd share it if anyone is interested in a serious program to get in shape for any purpose. Should take about an hour if you don't take any breaks (which you shouldn't if you can help it). Not sure if I got "devildogs" named right, but I included a description. This is a pdf file and it's not super technical, but I tried to give you an idea of what each thing involves. Hope it's worth something!

    Here's a copy and paste -

    Stretch

    ¼ mile jog

    Pushups x 30

    Slow jog in place, arms straight out. 10 second increments sprinting in place with knees above waist, followed by 10 seconds slow jog. Repeat 3 cycles.

    “Chase the Rabbit” x 20 – Pushup position, bring left foot to left hand, switch to right foot by right hand as if running with hands on the ground.

    Devildogs (?) x 10 - Start standing, squat, go to pushup position, do pushup, spread legs further apart, bring legs back together, return to squat, return to standing.

    Situps x 30

    1.5 mile run

    Jumping Jacks x 80

    1.5 mile run

    50 yard dash

    50 yard return Bear Crawling – crawl, but on hands and feet without knees touching the ground

    25 situps

    50 yard dash

    50 yard return crab walking – like bear crawl, but on back

    lunges x 30

    20 tricep pushups – like normal pushups, but spread feet wider and place index fingers and thumbs together to form a diamond between your hands.

    Stretch

    Stumble around in a daze mumbling, fight vomiting, drink quart of Gatorade, drive home while still wondering who you are and what you’re doing in a spaceship.

    That sounds pretty good. I imagine after the third or fourth time in a row one might get a little tired.

    I can't even claim I did 100% of that stuff. Towards the end I was doing a lot of staring at the ground while the regulars were pumping out more and more pushups. Couch life hasn't been kind to me.

    Thats Killer Virgnian. I could not do that right now, my wife probably could she is a triathalete. this summer she did a sprint, olympic and a half ironman. SO I'll leave those crazy cardio workouts for her. I enoy lifting large heavy weights, at 6'5 and 285lbs I'm not built for speed,lolol. Although i played 3 hours of Ice hockey last week, that was a gooder!

    Damn, I cant do that at all. I can do most, but that running ....not for me.

    I never was a runner even in the service. I did it because I had to, not because I wanted to. I can see me modifying that to suit my body shape and what works for me.

    Def. a good cardio workout.
