Bright lights...
When driving at night, do the bright lights of an oncoming vehicle bother you?
They bother the Hell out of me, especially the new blue ones, when driving on a 2 lane road, with no white stripes on the sides and on a rainy night.
I have flashed my lights continuously to no avail and either these people don't give a damn, or they haven't a clue as to where the dimmer switch is located.
Another thing that irks, me is for a driver (usually an old lady or man) to pull out in front of me when I'm cruising along at 55-60 MPH and they'll creep along at 20-30.

The blue ones blind me. Been a couple times when I couldn't tell where I was thanks to those ^&*(! things. Usually just close my eyes for a second and hope - at least that way when they've passed I'll have my vision back right away.

Don't you guys have the failure to dim lights law?? I turn around and pull their asses over. then since I work for a sheriff's office and have already been told that I write too many tickets, I chew their asses about it, and sometimes I write them if they're an ass.
or are you guys talking about in personal vehicles?? then, I turn my brights on and leave them, and slighty turn my head away.

Mexicali Rose, stop crying

I'll come back to you some sunny day.
Called-every night you know that I´ll be pining,
Every hour a year when I'm away.
Dry those big brown eyes and smile, dear
Banish all those tears and please don't cry.
Kiss me once again, and hold me.
Mexicali Rose, goodbye.

Yeah the bug the piss out of me...hard to see sometimes already without the addition of 20 million lumen headlights on the front of a car.

As you get older, it gets worse. I close one eye so I don't lose all my night vision.

Definatley hate the halogen blue. Even worse when they are behind me.
Since we are on the subject,
is there a headlight alignment law?

Newer cars have brighter lights these days. Flashing someone who is already has the lights on dipped beam serves no purpose, as the next option for them is sidelights only. It also blinds them, so you now have two drivers aprroaching each other, at speed, who can't see! Just look to the side of the road until they pass. Don't you US Cops have to pass Advanced Driving Courses?

Driving with brights on really pisses me off. I stop em, seeing we have an ordinance that covers it.

I'm usually in a SUV so I think that I'm above the direct light path from most of the newer HID lights. But sometimes they still bother me also...

I heard a story about a guy who gave someone verbal hell on a traffic stop because their headlight was "pointing way the hell off towards the woods." After the individual drove away, the officer's backup notified him that the light shining into the woods was his spotlight.

So what is actually considered legal and illegal? I know there are several DOT approved setups that come standard with some new cars that are simply unbearable to look at.

I've been thinking about getting a set of additional lights put on my car because when it's oh dark thirty in the country, wildlife loves to jump out to say Hi. As my car's mostly fiberglass, I'd like as much warning as I can get. It's incredibly easy to mount the lights with a separate switch or rig them to your high beams, but the problem I'm finding is that most of the aftermarket lights are rated for show or off road use only. Would I be running the risk of getting a ticket for illegal modifications?

Yep, and we know better than to drive on the left side of a road.
