I did a search, several actually, but didn't find a thread on this topic....unless of course I missed it. If so...sorry.....

At any rate, there are several ID names on here that sound interesting...and make me wonder why they were chosen. Did you have a reason...or was it random? What does your ID mean...if anything?

There are several people I'd like to ask directly...because I've wondered about their ID meanings....but I will wait and see if they post here.

I'll start it off.

Phoenixrose is not a location...it's a tattoo.

The phoenix because my life took a 180...and I survived the crash and burn. Rising from the flames sort of thing.

The rose...three roses, actually. My phoenix has three roses in its beak...taking the best of the past into my future...my three children.

this has been covered before PR. but i will answer again. My handle came from work, Hard because LEO/CO is not a easy job and sometimes you have to be hard. The "Nose" part I worked with a partner in the hole once who said I was one hardnosed sonofabitch, he meant it as a compliment, also becasue I can be very cold and not let emotion or feeling get in the way of my job. "Bull" is slang term convicts use for C/O. So that is how HARDNOSEBULL came about. I think that is about the best way for me to sum it up. plus it can be shortend to HNB which I like. I hope that answers your question, although I only use that handle on the internet and once people get to know me I usually answer pms with my real name.

Okay...covered before. I thought it probably had been, but my searches came up empty. Must not have put in the right key words. A ronin (浪人, rōnin) was a masterless samurai during the feudal period (1185–1868) of Japan. A samurai became masterless from the ruin or fall of his master, or after the loss of his master's favor or privilege. Since a ronin doesn't serve any lord, he is no longer a samurai. A samurai is a "servant", since the noun came from the verb "saburau" which is the Japanese for "to serve".

The word ronin literally means "wave person" - one who is tossed about, as on the waves in the sea. The term originated in the Nara and Heian periods, when it originally referred to serfs who had fled or deserted their master's land. It is also a term used for samurai who had lost their masters in wars.

I first learned of the "Ronin" via my interest in martial arts. I applied its meaning to describe the lack of leadership where I work since we have very few good leaders among our command staff.

The "Warrior" part comes from an instructor at the Wayne Co. Regional Police Academy. He is someone for whom I have a lot of respect. He would always say, "Listen up young warriors..." before everything he wanted us to remember. It kind of stuck with me I guess. I also consider all those in LE as warriors.

Originally, I had my badge # as my user name, but in chat it is a pain in the ass to type #'s (so I hear). I had Ronin Warrior as my subtitle, and people were using it anyway, so I had it changed permanently.

Y'all figure it out. Basically, they are a para-military unit within the regular Bavarian Police that can do things like an Army and have armored vehicle, aviation and crew-served weapons.
