Merry Christmas Everyone
Hi I just want to say Merry Christmas and share one of the most beautiful electronic Christmas Cards that I've seen. It's filled with surprises too.

Merry Christmas to all.
Have a safe and happy holiday!http://www.odmp.org/officer/16551-de...l-eron-shannon
Police Officers put themselves at risk for strangers every day. Some do not make it home to their families. Next time you think of saying something negative about the police, remember...YOU are one of the strangers.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!!!!
Also I dont know if this is done everywhere or not, but where I come from in NC we always placed one of the Christams lights that looks like a candle in the window during the holidays. It needs to have a blue bulb in it. Its to give thanks to the LEO who are out there working during the holidays keeping us and our families safe. I would ask those here to do the same thing. Lets help make this a national ritual showing support for the men in blue!!!"An Unarmed man can only flee from evil, and evil is not overcome by fleeing from it." Jeff Cooper

That's awesome! I seen a Jeep here the other day with Christmas lights and a wreath on the front, it was kewl. Still wondering how they get the lights to work
I'll have to agree with another post I seen here, I don't care what's politically or socially right for acceptance today. For me and my family it's "Merry "Christ"mas" in celebration of Christ's birth. Happy Hanukkah too! I think it's unbelievable how we tip toe around people that are offended by the base principles and traditions that this Country was founded on.
I have seen a few of the candles in windows with blue lights, but never knew the meaning, kewl. I will definitely place a (blue) candle light in the windows this year.
I won't put this in another thread, but if any of you pray, please keep my sister in your prayers. She was in an accident this evening (yesterday now) and was hurt very badly. She has a broken leg, collar bone, arm, collapsed lung, and multiple bruises and scratches.
Needless to say it doesn't look real good at the moment. I didn't find out until just a couple hrs ago as she was in surgery trying to repair the collapsed lung. I am heading down that way in the morning (well in a few hrs) She lives a couple hrs away from me. Anywayz, if you pray please lift her up in prayer!
Thanks!Last edited by carolina; 12-16-06 at 01:49 AM.

Merry Christmas. Your sister will be in my thoughts and prayers.
I have also heard of the blue candle in the window to show support. I have two blue candles in my front window. A year or so ago I got an email explaining the meaning, I'll have to try to find it and send it out again. The statements and opinions made here are of Copper51's only. They do not reflect my department or the city I work for.
So lay off, I'm offduty and spouting off.

Merry Christmas, and any other observances you may engage in. I don't want to hear about anyone getting hurt so be careful out there.

She (Elaina) is in a progressive care unit, one step down from ICU. Her vitals are holding good. The collapsed lung is getting stronger.
She also broke her pelvic bone so surgery is scheduled mid week or sooner, to try and give the lung time to get stronger and swelling a chance to go down some.
The plan is for surgery on the pelvic, her broken leg and her broken collar bone. She also broke her wrist but they aren't planning on doing anything with that yet.
We still aren't sure exactly what happened. They air lifted her to CMC in Charlotte so, none of the family got to the accident site. Hopefully, a police report will be available today.
Elaina is so drugged from the morphine drip they have her on for pain, that she all she can remember is bits and pieces. All her doctor will say at this point is that her vitals are strong, and there is no sign of internal bleeding, and that she is "not out of the woods yet".
Thank you for asking, and please keep Elaina in your prayers!

+1 here, Carolina. When she can communicate, reassure her nothing is as fine as any kind of day outside the hospital, and it does indeed get better. Most important is a positive attitude, doing the PT, and using that inspirometer thingy a lot. (been there, don't wanna do that again)

That is an "ouch"!
I'll keep your sister in my prayers too, carolina.
A Smile
A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.
It enriches those who receive it,without making poorer those who give.It takes but a moment, but the memoryof it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that hecan get along without it,and none is so poor but thathe can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,or stolen, for it is something that is of novalue to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.Give them one of yours, as none needs a smileso much as he who has no more to give.
