Power outages suck ass
So have ya'll heard about the million people in the Northwest without power? I'm one of them. It went out Thursday night at 8:30, and so far it's been out for about 24 hours. They're saying it'll be Saturday afternoon or Sunday before it's back on.
The weird thing is, the wind storm wasn't that bad. I've seen worse storms, but I've never had the power out for this long. The worst problems are in my town. Other towns were out very briefly or not at all. I went up in the mountains last night to see how much of the valley was dark, but everything but my town was lit up.
Right now I'm at my mother-in-law's house checking LEF. I miss my computer, and my high speed internet. And cold beer.

I hadn't heard about the wind storm till now. I just did a quick Google news search and read up a bit about it.
Sorry, I know it does suck!
I've lost electric here several times. Usually from electrical transformers overloading and then they go boom.
If I could only find a legal generator I could buy here in California, I'd feel a bit more secure.

My part time job is telemarketing.
Last night, I called this lady, and she sounded very upset. I asked her if she was okay...if it would be better for me to call another time.
She told me their power was out, and they were in the middle of a big storm.
WOW...I hope it all works out okay for you.
Take care.phoenixrose~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I got lucky and our power was only out for about 12 hours. The problem in the small town I live in is that we have no power to the water pump for the town and won't have for days. That means no water for bathing, flushing, watering animals or drinking. I have enough bottled water for drinking and watering the dogs but have to haul water from the river for the horse.

Try it for 28 days
My generator became my best friend.)Since you can now buy them for around $300 (for a small unit) I highly reccomend it.Since Katrina,in these parts it isnt"do you have a generator?"it is more like "what kind of generator do you have"

I know it sucks when the power goes out for an extended period of time. Ive been there during and after several Hurricanes. Now for the last two years living down here is just as bad. We only have power 1/2 - 1/3 of the time. In most apartments if you dont have power you dont have ac or anything. For the last year ive had a place that has a monster generator. So when the power is out the generator is on and we have ac and everything, course I pay for it every month when I pay the rent. But its worth it in the end.

I feel your pain brother, We lost power for a little over five days a couple of weeks ago here in Missouri. You don't realize how easy we have it until the luxury is taken away.

LOL...sorry.
I thought the same thing at one time. I have three kids in college...and I'm trying to make ends meet. They pay well...WTH.
It's okay...I really like talking to people, and I meet people from all over the country. Kinda cool.
Hint...if you DON'T want them calling you back...don't hang up.
We HAVE to set it as an automatic call back. Doesn't matter that our personal opinion is they don't want to be bothered.
I KNOW, I'm going to use this experience in a book someday...so you see, every dark cloud has a silver lining.

Well, my wife and I went driving around today. We got back around eight o'clock to find our Christmas lights cheerfully illuminating the cul-de-sac. The power is back on here, although many areas are still without.
But screw them. They probably aren't members of LEF anyway, so what the hell do they need power for anyway? I'm just glad I'm back here with all you super people. I love you all. And in case you're wondering, the answer is yes, I'm drunk. Life is good.
