Happy Boxing Day.
Happy Boxing Day to all the members who celebrate this day.
Now can someone explain what that is and how do you celebrate it in your country?http://www.odmp.org/officer/16551-de...l-eron-shannon
Police Officers put themselves at risk for strangers every day. Some do not make it home to their families. Next time you think of saying something negative about the police, remember...YOU are one of the strangers.

All the feuding family members who didn't want to fight on Christmas now get to box each other?

That is a day where Canadians return gifts the day after Christmas. Bosco could explain it better.

The holiday is of British origin and it has to do with giving presents to the less fortunate.

I was always told it was the servants day off, and when they could celebrate Christmas. They would get a "box" of goods/goodies from the master of the house.
I googled, and it looks like that's not the case.Molly Weasley makes Chuck Norris eat his vegetables.

No! that's the alcohol!
However, I think the reason we all get on now is because we are fundamentally alike with the same goals, and there is a mutual respect that neither the US or the UK would ever admit defeat, and continue fighting for what we believe in. Ok time for another beer!

Well, seems like there are several possible reasons.
The hired help brought boxes with them to work everyday, and the boss would put some money in it on the day after Christmas.
People would give boxes of clothing and such to the less fortunate.
People would put money in the "poor box" at church.Molly Weasley makes Chuck Norris eat his vegetables.

I think these attempt to explain it :

I'm still confused.
We need a Canadian or someone Bristish to explain how they, themselves, celebrate it.
