When you're traveling, where do you eat?
When I'm traveling, in a strange town and it's mealtime, where do I eat? Well, if I see police and sheriff's vehicles parked around an eating joint, that's the place for me.

Well, I may not be out and about at the time an officer would be eating so I try to find a restuarant that has a somewhat full parking lot or a restaurant that I'm familiar with or one that someone has recommended.

A Smile
A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.
It enriches those who receive it,without making poorer those who give.It takes but a moment, but the memoryof it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that hecan get along without it,and none is so poor but thathe can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,or stolen, for it is something that is of novalue to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.Give them one of yours, as none needs a smileso much as he who has no more to give.

I look for the most crowded restaurants. The best restaurants are likely to attract the largest crowds. And like a typical sheep, I follow the herd.
When choosing between restaurants specializing in the cuisine of a minority ethnicity, I look for restaurants that attract the most customers of that ethnicity, since they're the best judges of their native cuisines.
If I'm in a high-crime neighborhood, I do what Esteda does and look for the restaurant with the most police. Like a typical sheep, I try to be near the sheepdogs when there are wolves around.

If it's a planned trip, I have my AAA book, and I look for ratings.

The crowded ones. But if I'm going anywhere past 100 miles the Kraker Barrel and Dennys are out of the question.

Mostly just pick up a sandwich at the the gas station and keep going. I'm a sucker for small town roadside walkup food shacks though.

Here's what works for me: find a store clerk that DOESN'T look like he/she has a Dept. of Corrections number. Ask them where they would go for a beer and a burger. Some place where you don't have to fight your way in or out - a place you'd take a date.
I've found some great little places this way, and never been disappointed.Anything posted here does not represent the opinion of any agency anywhere ever.
Hell, it doesn't necessarily represent the opinion of the poster and is subject to change at any time.
Deal with it.
