Do you believe in Guardian Angels?

Do you believe you have a Guardian Angel? I believe we all have Guardian Angels watching over us. We aren't always aware or ready to believe, but the next time you hear that inner voice urging you to take a certain action, or feel the need to hesitate when stepping off the curb, pulling out in front of an oncoming vehicle you didn't see and an inner voice tells you to stop, or some similar feeling, believe!!
There could be a car careening out of control coming around the corner right where you would have been. Or, when you are at your lowest and a stranger appears and asks you for directions, take a moment. It just might be the answer to your silent prayer.
Read what this former NYC police officer has to say about the subject.

    An awesome read!

    A Smile

A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.

It enriches those who receive it,
without making poorer those who give.
It takes but a moment, but the memory
    of it sometimes lasts forever.

None is so rich or mighty that he
    can get along without it,
and none is so poor but that
he can be made rich by it.

A smile creates happiness in the home,
    fosters goodwill in business,
and is the countersign of friendship.

It brings rest to the weary,
cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,
and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.

Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,
or stolen, for it is something that is of no
value to anyone until it is given away.

Some people are too tired to give you a smile.
Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile
so much as he who has no more to give.

Do I believe I have a Guardian Angel? I do. My Guardian Angel is my God. Regarding angels on this earth... if you believe in the Bible, read Hebrews 13:2.

I also believe in guardian angels. There have been many close calls where I know there was a higher power looking out for me and keeping me safe. I always joke my guardian angel has taken a beating.

More People Turn To Guardian Angels For Help
Gallup Poll Finds 78 Percent Of Americans Believe

    Jon Duncanson
    Reporting

(CBS) CHICAGO Are there or aren't there? In a world that seems to some more and more perilous, a growing number of people believe they can turn to their guardian angel for assistance.

CBS 2's Jon Duncanson reports that what some might call luck, others call divine intervention of an angelic nature.

The evidence says we want to believe that angels do earn their wings. According to a Gallup Poll, 78 percent of Americans believe guardian angels exist.

As three-year-old Addison Schwaller of rural Sheridan fell nine feet through a construction hole, landing face first on a concerete floor.

“She was totally unresponsive. Her eyes were off to the left and fixed,” said her mom, Krisellen Lang. “Didn’t move at all when you talked to her.”

By the time Addison reached the hospital, doctors found no bruising or even evidence of a fall.

That was strange enough, but Addison, who really knew nothing about angels, told her mom she wasn’t alone during that terrible fall.

“She said, ‘My angel said I was too heavy so I had to stay. That I was too heavy for her to carry all the way,’” Krisellen said.

Peggy Gibson of Chicago says when she fell and couldn’t get up, a car drove down her alley. Two men helped her.

“As I turned to see where they were going, the car seemed to have disappeared,” Peg said.

The popular notion of winged guardian angels dates back at least 5,000 years.

Joan Wester Anderson of Prospect Heights has written seven best-selling books of alleged angels encounters. She says there are just too many stories not to believe.

“What we have to do to not believe is to disbelieve all these good people,” Anderson said.

Still, even the Catholic Church is careful “not to put a whole set of intermediary begins between human beings and God,” said Father Robin Ryan with the Catholic Theological Union.

There are lots of people like Sandra Van Maren, an avowed atheist, who think it’s a all a lot of wishful thinking.

“They’re employing logic to get along in their daily lives, and they're rejecting logic for this thing I believe they want to exist,” said American Atheists’ Sandra Van Maren.

Don’t tell that to trucker Michael Harrington of Warrenville. He says he passed out behind the wheel from a knee injury but still mysteriously found he had driven 300 miles.

“I regained consciousness back in Memphis,” he said.

The fact is, there may or may not be angels in America. But in America, it seems there’s an increased desire to believe that a guardian angel is just an emergency away.

“I think we all learned a lot from that day about the fact that we are not alone, even if we think we might be,” Krisellen said.

The Greek philosopher, Plato, spoke of guardian angels. The belief follows the line that each person is assigned a guardian "spirit," which can be called upon in times of trouble.

I've seen some. They were wearing Red Berets and T Shirts saying "Guardian Angels" and riding on the London Underground.

I wish, but then I believe this is the level where we learn from, and suffer, our mistakes. The next will be an accounting - no cheating until then.

    That's my view.

I to believe in Angels. I also believe that when it's our time to die it's our time. It doesn't matter what we are doing, or where we are. Walking down the street, driving in a car, responding to a Domestic, or being diagnosed with terminal cancer. I don't dictate my life by the possibility of I might die, when it's my time then it's my time. Now don't get me wrong I'm not going to be stupid and try to excellerate the process, but I'm not going to live my life being overly cautious.

I do. There has been more than once that after something I have said "I should not have made it through that". You know what I am talking about. That time you find the gun "after". Or you see the other guy "later". You know what I am talking about. We do this too much for us not to believe. You know we get too lucky.
    And Shepards we shall be,
for thee, My Lord, for thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy Command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls will it ever be.

    Yes I do, 100%.

Early in my career I grabbed a guy who was trying to jump off a bridge onto a rush hour freeway with bumper to bumper 70+ mph traffic after finding his best friend with his wife that morning, and was having one heck of a struggle. I was assisted a short time later by a guy who said "I'm and off duty officer, I will help you" as he helped me pull the guy back over the rail. I struggled to get the jumper cuffed on my side of the rail and looked up and the "Off duty LEO" was gone.

    Serious story, no kidding.
