Protests surface after high-profile aquarium deaths
http://www.ajc.com/living/content/li...vaquarium.html
Putting large ocean mammals in a big fish tank/aquarium is cruel treatment and similar to sentencing a harmless creature to solitary confinement for life.
Since Vets haven't determined the cause of death, both could have died from broken hearts.

Whales should only be put in tanks if they're found to be terrorists, after a fair trial with legal representation.

you know.. something interesting when I used to work with horses...
the work horses that were always paired up to pull like the clydesdales for example.... you cant separate the pair...
when that happend due to one dying ect... the other fell ill very shortly after for no apparent reason and would die.
sorry.. just a moment from my brain memory that i found interesting lol...
as far as any animal in a tank ect... some are there because they were saved and cannot be released ect... same with like a bird sanctuary... or the manatee rescue organizations...
some serve a very good purpose and others may be just to exploit...
however... I remember a photo I once saw of the PETA people... how they dont believe in any confinement of dogs ect... and in their OWN group photo it shows a bunch of them with dogs on harness'...
eh.. whatever.http://www.allpoetry.com/Grunts%20Girl
We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

Good points, Goz. Not only the injured ones, but some were born in captivity and can't survive in the wild. It'd be like taking a pampered city guy and dumping him in the woods. Sure, there's food, but how do you know what's safe to eat, much less catch it?
