I didn't. I was actually invited by Term a few days before LEF even started up.

I was invited to the site by Term a few days before it was up and running, so when the forum was ready I started posting. At first, it wasn't very active, so I was only on for a few days, then stopped coming to the site. About a month later, I got a few emails from LEF thanking the members that made the site a success. In the email, it also said this:
So then I figured, ah what the hell, and I checked out the forum. Ever since that moment, I have been checking the forum several times every day, and haven't looked back since. If you are one of those members who signed up with LEF and only posted a few times for whatever reason, we would like to have you back.Last edited by Bosco3379; 02-17-07 at 10:45 PM.

Keep active! We like new views as much as old around here. Even civis like myself are welcome: more so because we all know who is who here.
There I go again talking like I have some stake in the site. I guess I've been here long enough I do think that way. I never have been one to hold back on my opinions though - think I signed up within 15 minutes of hearing about the site

I don't remember who but someone from O.com told me to check this site out. I registered & posted an intro shortly thereafter.

I found a link to this place from some random thread on O.com. Now you cannot even type in lawenforcementforums.com over there without it getting it censored.
I would have selected I didn't lurk, but I didn't catch it before I clicked on a few hours.

As with all law enforcement forums, we have more lurkers, than active posters. The active posters help make the site what it is. I strongly encourage all lurkers to throw their username into the hat, and start posting.
Josh (JMur5074), I still remember asking you to join LEF like it was yesterday. I'm glad I did. You're a good guy and a great contributor to the site. You're one of the original members of LEF.
Angel (Ducky), you're a unique person, and you've staked your place as one of the queens, and first ladies of LEF. You're a great personality for the site, and a good contributor.
Mike (JohnnyReb), I'm glad you've started posting again. You have the chance to be a great contributer to the site, just like your dad.
Jim (1sgKelly), we're glad you made the jump over here. You were a well respected member on that other site. With you (coming here), LEF gained experience, and wisdom, and instant credibility.
I'd love to get to know some of you better. So start posting and interacting with each other!

A few hours, I'd heard about it but had not visited the site until Brad invited me to check it out. I'm glad that I did.

I honostly dont remember how I heard of the site. Im pretty sure I first got word of it over at o.com. This site is so much more friendly to non leos. They have some good people over there, but over here everyone is very helpfull. Im not worried about my opinions getting shot down, and Ive have nothing but encouragement, and praise on my current mission to be a LEO. Thank you for such a wonderful site!

I heard about LEF through Roses! I wouldn't say I got in trouble with my very first post, but I wasn't made to feel welcome. At the time I was new to the world of forums and posted a question about the site in the wrong area. I don't remember who it was, but someone let me know about it. I thought maybe this isn't for me so I left. About a month later, bored and with nothing to do, I logged back on and found a welcome message from Signal_W! I'm now an LEFaholic!

Interesting that most of the voters so far started posting right after seeing this forum. I would think those who lurk a long time before posting are the majority, given how many members we always see logged on who still haven't posted. But then again, if they're lurkers, maybe they won't even vote.

I lurked for almost half a year before posting. It seemed like such a rough crowd, I was afraid I'd be banned if I posted. Can't believe I survived to this day.
