The alternative:
I’ve read a number of articles, stories and opinions on how, what, and why there should, must be alternatives to cops shooting, beating, taseing, hurting or embarrassing the people here in the United States of America (even the illegal ones).
Each and every author has some idea on how this could be accomplished; if only the police would listen to them.
After due and diligent research and a compilation of all the facts and theories I have found the two most successful methods available to society today, taking into consideration cost, time, effort and level of knowledge available.
1. Obey the law.
2. Do what the cops tell you to.
Since every cop is required to have a Miranda Warning card so that there will be no error when advising a subject of their rights; I was thinking why not require everyone who is not a cop to have a card with these two rules printed on it.
Maybe we could call it the Cops Rights Card.
We are the thin blue line
between you
and all the money in the world.
And no you can't have any.

We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

Sarge, the only way that is going to take is if we apply those rights with a sledgehammer.
And Shepards we shall be,
for thee, My Lord, for thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy Command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls will it ever be.
In Nomine Patris, Et Filli, Et Spiritus Sancti.

3. Fire politicians who make ridiculous laws
Preferably from a canon
As pointed out in the article Pedro56 posted - Illinois' criminal code has expanded from 72 pages to 1200 since 1961. With 1200 pages how many people in Illinois are not breaking some laws, and how many know them all? Lot of redundancy I'm sure and common sense probably clears you of the first 1000 pages, but still.

Here's a novel thought.
GET A FU@!#$G EDUCATION AND THEN A JOB!
Then maybe, just maybe there would be no time for criminal activity.
Learning a few morals and principles along the way couldn't hurt.Do not war for peace. If you must war, war for justice. For without justice there is no peace. -me

I'm loving this idea...
