Any famous landmarks near you?
Whats up everyone.
Im just trying to see if anybody on here has any famous land-marks around where they live, or work. For example, George Washingtons house is about 3 miles away from my job. One of Good Charloite's (SP)? houses is about 2 miles away. Also, one of Dave Grohl's houses is about 2 miles away.

Mike Hawk is legendary, but only a lucky few are allowed to visit.

One a side note, a friend of mine bumped into Dave Grohl in Fredericksburg shopping for antiques with his mom

The Birthplace of the Republican Party is in Ripon Wisconsin, about 20 miles from my house.
For the morning will come. Brightly will it shine on the brave and true, kindly upon all who suffer for the cause, glorious upon the tombs of heroes. Thus will shine the dawn.

The Gateway Arch in St. Louis is about 15 miles from me. It is a beautiful structure.

Pony Express ran through my back pasture. We're not too far from one of their barns.

Princeton University, Albert Einstein's Institute for Advanced Study, and the Princeton battlefield are within 15 minutes of my home, as is tobacco heiress Doris Duke's estate.
Within 30 minutes of home is the site of the Lindbergh baby kidnapping and subsequent trial, as well as many, many Revolutionary War historical sites. It seems that George Washington slept or had meetings almost everywhere in this part of New Jersey.
Within 45 minutes is the site of Washington crossing the Delaware. There are a lot of Revolutionary War re-enactment groups here.
At work, the Statue of Liberty is 15 minutes away from my company's main office. When I worked out of that location, I could see the Empire State Building from my office window.

When I lived in NJ this was the sight I used to see when I went high up in the hills near my town

Shame it is not that way anymore.

I went to the top of the empire state building last year with some friends. NEVER AGAIN!! That is just to damn high! I hate heights, but I had to see what it looked like, its just something you gotta do. Kinda like touching the wall, eventhough it says "wet paint" just to see.
