Music while working
The thread from Crash gave me an idea. Does what you listen to either on your way to work or while you are at work have anything to do with your mood? For instance if I listen to Mudvayne (Determined off of Lost and Found) I have a tendency to be more ready for somebody to try and act crazy with me. Your thoughts?

I'm about to get Ludacris, Pepper, The Used and Chevelle involved in my research paper. It actually helps me concentrate because my mind doesn't wander to what else I could be doing.

My mood dictates what I listen to during my commute. While I'm working, I'll listen to anything from hip-hop to classical but Fridays are almost always "dance party Fridays" in my kitchen.

I believe that mood is definitely influenced by music. While on patrol, I like to listen to different types of music (at extremely low volume) to help enhance my mood.
Night shift, I usually like smoothe jazz or even some classical, with a dark flavor (minor keys). Harlem Nocturne, Around Midnight, etc. for the jazz, and Eine Klein Naktmusik, or O Fortuna, etc. on the classical side. On days, I like upbeat, contemporary rock (Nickelback, Creed, etc.), classic rock (Boston, Kansas, Rush, or Speedwagon), or some (and I do mean 'some') country, like Brooks and Dunn, Waylon Jennings, or Travis Tritt.
There are times I need 'stress' music, for that I like to go with Boyz2Men, Nsync, classic Commodores. It really just depends.
As you can see, my tastes vary widely. Rap is definitely not in my library though.

No music allowed here.. if it is heard through the radio.. we can lose our car or get written up. Our patrol cars have no radios in them.

We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

I listen to talk radio during the day when I can.

I record the local talk radio show so I can fast forward through commercials - then onto audiobooks or a podcast.
Sometimes there's music at the start of Random House audiobooks if that counts

I put on loud music when I'm cleaning at home, cause it makes the work go by faster.

I work with whatever is on the radio, just no country. Sunday mornings on my way home our public radio station plays gospel, great way to wind down. It seems though that when a hot call comes and I have to get there fast there's something perfect on the radio to drive to. It just has to be at a low level of course.

Someone mention Mudvayne???
I arrested the guitarist back in 2003 for D.C. and Intox.
It depends on what shift Im on, Night turn I listen to LOVELINES with Dr. Drew from 2300-0100. Then its either Coast to Coast or regular music, rock or jazz.
PM shift I listen to Hannity from 3-6, then local sports talk or jazz.
Then Michael Savage at 8pm. Music is always an option.
Daylight shift- Opie and Anthony form 6-9. Then music or local talk.
Then Glenn Beck from 10-12. then its mostly jazz or rock..A monday morning lunatic, disturbed from time to time. Temporary catatonic madman on occasion..

On my way into work I listen to something to get me pumped up.
When I'm working nights I listen to rap, pop, hip hop, rock/metal, etc.
When I'm working days I listen to country, or rock/metal.
In the mornings (end of shift on nights, or beginning of shit during days) I listen to the Bob and Tom show.No one has greater love than this, to lay down ones life for ones friends - John 15:13

If I'm working overnights and its quiet I usually try to put something in the cd player in the control room that is fast and bouncy so I can stay awake.
