Fierce Geese
Well i was riding my horse on Saturday afternoon, and i ended up riding along the edge of a field behind a girl's house i used to be friends with. I found a trail that went into the woods, and i followed it for about 1/4 mile when i came upon a beautiful pond. It was so clear you could see right to the bottom. It was an odd shape, a piece of land came way out into the middle,(kind of a peninsula) and a huge rock connected to the land was at the end, but it was all nice and flat so i was going to ride around and walk Zak out onto it.
I was riding around, and i heard a splash. I saw a Canadian Goose jump up out of the water and onto a log. I stared at it for a while, and proceeded onto the peninsula. I got out near the end, when i heard a loud hissing noise. It sounded like a huge snake.....then i looked down and to my left and saw a female goose sitting on her nest, about four feet away, hissing at me with all her strength. Well i stood there for a while and she seemed to calm down. She stood up, and i saw 6 eggs. Then my horse snorted and she flipped out and spread her wings and gave a little "honk". Well, from across the pond came the male. He was swimming at me like a missile, with his head outstreached and down. He got to the shore, and walked up real slow, swinging his head back and forth. (i didnt think he would stand up to a huge horse) well he took off running and flew straight up in the air at Zak's head and my head. The wind from his wings blew my hair back, and he came right at our faces. All my muscles froze, but thankfully Zak's didnt. He took off as fast as he could up the hill. I think i must have jumped 5 logs to escape. hahahahaha it was fun.....but something i will never try again. My heart sure was pounding.
Has anyone else had bad experiences with nesting geese?? (while fishing or anything else??)

Number six shot, 12 gauge shotgun.
And Shepards we shall be,
for thee, My Lord, for thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy Command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls will it ever be.

What??!!?? They taste good if cleaned right. Kind of like Heron or Crane.
And Shepards we shall be,

Two damn mods posting in this thread, and neither of them asked themselves "Why is this thread in the News forum?"

The only good goose is a dead goose. I'd have stomped on the eggs.

A couple of weeks ago I saw a goose chase a security guard and two Macy's employees (both male) outside of a mall.

I expect it out of John. He'd have mudbutt all day if his wife wasn't around to wipe it for him.
