Screwy Yahoo messenger
Apparantly yahoo messenger has decided that I don't have enough friends, so it's added my nickname to roughly 200 contact lists of people I don't know. I'm getting IMs out of absolutely nowhere, and very, very few are spam. I've had 5 today alone, and of the ones who are literate, I've managed to get that my name just shows up on their lists. Admittely, it's a great way to meet new people, but really. This is just getting silly. And of course, yahoo help is of no help whatsoever.

Did you just let the upgrade run? I'm two versions behind and refuse to let it install the new version (like being able to see which offline friends are really offline and which are being invisible

I don't think it's the upgrade as I've only been having this problem the last week or so. I've been typically getting 15 or so messages a day from different people, and if it weren't for the fact that most everyone on here has the nic in question, I'd just change it.

Screw it, after fielding 15 IMs today alone from people all over the world who believe the greatest opening line in the history of communication is some form of A/S/L, I'm making the nic inactive. If I'm supposed to be on your list, PM me and I'll give you a name that will actually show up. I hate to disappoint the legions of people waiting breathlessly to hit on me, but I'm tired of it already. I've literally put about 150 people on ignore in the last week.
