I am so excited!
I am so excited that I just had to share the good news. For those of you who don't know, I am working on my Associates in Arts degree in Human Services, Addictive Studies. My goal is to earn my masters in counseling. To make a long story short, I want to work in the Criminal Justice System, specifically with those incarcerated. Everyone tells me I'm crazy, but this is what I want to do. Anyway, I am due to start my internship in the fall and while I am free to work with any agency that specializes in counseling, I was hoping it would be somewhere in the CJS. As it so happens, one of my instructors (retired after 18 years in law enforcement) works with Douglas County Corrections (Omaha). Can you guess where this is going? Yep, I am scheduled to meet with the program manager on June 26, 2007! I am so excited... I can't wait! Wish me luck, guys!
