Gonna be gone a few days-try to cope
My wife is having some minor surgery Monday. Nothing big, so no I won't be asking for money and threatening to DT any of you. I will be busy taking care of her and my son for the next week. By the time I'm done, work will seem like a vacation.
"Somewhere a True Believer is training to kill you.
He is training with minimum food or water, in austere conditions, day and night.
The only thing clean on him is his weapon.
He doesn't worry about what workout to do---his rucksack weighs what it weighs, and he runs until the enemy stops chasing him.
The True Believer doesn't care "how hard it is"; he knows he either wins or he dies.
He doesn't go home at 1700; he is home.
He knows only the Cause.
Now, who wants to quit?"
"I am only one, but I am one. I can not do everything, but I can do something. And because I can not do everything I will not refuse to do the something that I can do. What I can do I should do. And what I should do, by the Grace of God, I will do."

Praying that all goes well and for a speedy recovery. Best of luck!

A Smile
A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.
It enriches those who receive it,without making poorer those who give.It takes but a moment, but the memoryof it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that hecan get along without it,and none is so poor but thathe can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,or stolen, for it is something that is of novalue to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.Give them one of yours, as none needs a smileso much as he who has no more to give.

Get well soon to your wife!!!
My wife just had some minor knee surgery, so she's hobbling around now expecting me to wait on her. I cooked breakfast today for the first time in about 5 years and didn't screw it up too bad, but I saw her feeding most of it to the dog.

Hope all goes to plan and she has a swift recovery.
Does this mean you have to do ALL the house work now??
. . . and you don't have to breast feed the son do you?? . . sheesh, that could be a deal breaker!!!

We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

Things went fine. The surgery itself was damn fast. We left her as she went into the OR, went to grab some lunch and came back to waiting less than an hour later. The surgery was over and the doc had already been out to talk to us. After all the taking care of things around the house, I can say it's great to be back at work. Nice and relaxing.
