Black and white TV

Saw this at another forum and it struck a cord with me, maybe coz I'm not so young . . *LOL* . . but anyone else here remember black and white TV or any of these shows?

We had a black and white for years, long after color tv's came out.

When Wizard of Oz was shown on tv, all the neighborhood kids would watch the black and white part at our house, then we would run to one of the other houses to watch the color part on a color tv.

Actually,I still have an old 12" K-mart brand black and white,Dont use it,but havent the heart to toss it either.

I have a little B&W like that here in my computer room. Its less distracting to have going than a color set for those times when you just want something on, but aren't watching closely.

Besides, I'm about half luddite.

BEB, you are perhaps only the second person I know who uses the word "luddite."


I have a 12" B&W tv that I don't use but I keep for sentimental reasons, it was the first tv of my own - my grandparents gave it to me when I was 10 (against the wishes of my parents ).

We've got a tiny 6" in the office here, but we really only use it when there's breaking news we want to follow and the websites aren't keeping up fast enough.
