I haven't polished my boots in about a year. Before I was an SRO, I worked the county area of my station, which is 80% dirt. I learned quickly that polishing my boots was a waste of time and energy, because they would get scuffed and dirty as soon as I got to my first call.

I shine my boots, then again the Chief likes that and it makes the uniform just snap that much more in the public eyes. Even though I work in the dark right now no one can see me.
