I'm trying to transfer some videos from my phone to my pc. When I try to, I get an error message stating that the audio Codec is not supported.

What do I need to do to transfer these?

I always send them via email. I have no clue if your phone wont send an email.

You get the error when you try to play the file after it has successfully transferred? Or while trying to transfer?

If the former, which I'm guessing it is, you just need to install the appropriate codec. What model phone is it? Might check their FAQS.

I don't think my phone will do email. It's a RAZR and my service is US Cellular.

I get it right after select the file to transfer. It is a RAZR.

Your phone does do email.

On my phone, when I go to send a text message, I get the option of sending it to a phone number, or an email address. We have the same phone and service.

I do drive a van.

And you have now exceeded my ability to help you. I dont know why you cant send it to email.

All this seems to be right? Basically just saying you need Media Player 10 or higher. I'm not finding anyone else with the exact problem so far.

How do I synchronize music, video, and pictures?

Important Note: Synchronization with Windows Media Player is only available with an optional memory card. ActiveSync works with Windows Media Player 10 or higher to synchronize music, video, and pictures with your device. Other than selecting the Media information type in ActiveSync to be synchronized, all media synchronization settings must be set in Windows Media Player.

Before media can be synchronized, perform the following:

*
Install Version 10, or higher, of Windows Media Player before media can be synchronized.
*
Connect your mobile device to the PC with a USB cable. If the device is also connected using Bluetooth, you must end that connection before media can be synchronized.
*
Insert a 32 MB or larger storage card in your mobile device.
*
Set up a sync partnership between the storage card and Windows Media Player.

Note: If the resolution is higher than the max (320 x 240), the video may not display correctly.

To setup synchronization:

1.
Open Windows Media Player.
2.
Click the Sync tab.
3.
Select the storage card.
4.
Click Set up Sync.

Note:If you do not have a memory card you can still transfer media files via ActiveSync.

Try another media player, there's plenty out there like winamp.

And no, I didn't read through all the thread coz Norm was just filling in time I think.

I have winamp, Itunes and of course the evil Media player.

I don't think I've used winamp in over a year though.

Um, I never thought to mention this, but I'm using Motorola Phone tools program to transfer these files.

After I get the MP downloaded, I'll give the process BEB posted a shot.

I don't use Media Player either, though for this application a third party player isn't likely to work. Grab 10 and when installing just be sure not to let it be the default for any file types you've previously changed, then you need only be bothered with it while syncing the phone.

Edit 10 or 11 for this purpose.
