I need someone to explain this to me.

So at 3am in the morning not much is on tv. Animal Planet is normally the only channel that doesn't go to infomercials or praise Jesus shows. So the other night they had a marathon on of a show called Meerkat Manor.

Someone needs to explain this show to me because seriously....WTF?!?

Pretty much to describe this show its a soap opera with meerkats. They have names. They have sex scandals. They have gang wars.

I thought soap operas were bad enough.

I LOVE MEERKAT MANOR... it is sooo funny how they make all the different little critters like their own characters...

I was soo sad when they got bumped from their perfect little homes into that tall grassland....

I dunno... I guess it hits my animal lover side and having all the living creatures great and small series, I guess I am a juvenile sucker.
Some of the episodes are boring but some are not

I watched a few episodes of it last night, up til when Mozart got kicked out again, then I ran to the store and picked up a 6 pack. Far as I can say though, that research team is just making a video diary of their studies, they've been studyin those things for 10 years and it seems the meerkats are used to them being around.

Meerkat Manor is part of the Kalahari Meerkat Project. The show is narrated by Bill Nighy in the UK and Canada, Mike Goldman in Australia, and Sean Astin in the USA. The series was originally shown in the UK, and is its primary home, but was picked up in Australia, Canada, and the United States, and is now a worldwide hit. I wonder if they use the same script for all 3?

I rather like Meerkat Manor, but I don't exactly watch it all the time. I especially like seeing the babies romping around, and have to realize that those little guys who are moving so fast are only about the size of newborn kittens. They're just cute, and half the time I have an urge to get one as a pet. I got to see a group of them up close (2 foot away or so) at the local zoo. They really are adorable.
