what would you do.....if you had a roommate like mine?

I am currently in the process of moving out of my old apt into a new one.....below is a message i sent a good friend of mine to tell her what my roommate did to me. Being that the following is so unbelievable, I want to hear how ya'll would have reacted. Would you suck it up and just be the bigger person? Move on with your life and take it as a life lesson? Would you tell her off? What would you do?

so, today i started moving. i came up last night. it was unbelievable. i walked in the door, the a/c was completely shut off. i smelled something that freakin reeked, so i look down and see a trash bag, opened it up and it contained thawed out ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta cheese sitting there for a couple days(my roomie's doing of course) she is totally moved out right..so she says. she got all her s h i t out, and i have her key bc she gave it to my mom. she barely even cleaned her bathroom. she told me that she cleaned the kitchen(all she did was wipe off the counters) thats it. i opened the refridgerator and all of her s h i t was in there...(25 beers some that had been there since sept 2006) outdated yogurt, outdated you name it. she took all of the things she needed and left the trash (two huge bags just from the s h i t out of the fridge). she also took almost all of my dish towels. she took the good containers and left me the ones she f u c k e d up. out of the silverware my aunt gave me, i now have only about five forks....no spoons no knives no anything. i am pissed beyond belief. OH I FAILED TO MENTION....SHE LEFT OUR BALCONY DOOR UNLOCKED(WHICH HAPPENS TO BE RIGHT BESIDE MY TWO THOUSAND DOLLAR DELL COMPUTER) i was f u c k i n g hot. she also left old candles and s h i t she didnt feel like messing with. she left her vacuum cleaner but not the trash can for me to use...( i had to ask her if she even realized she left the vacuum anyway bc shes ab to go to florida) my mom was extremely upset bc here again(apt #2) i have had to clean up after her nasty ass. my mom threw all of her stuff she had left lying around.

this has been such a stressful day......make me laugh ppl....plz

Your getting married..... get used to it! hahaha noooo it does suck!! I would be upset... but I probably wouldn't say anything, I would write her and the mess off as lesson learned....

I think you'll feel better about it if you just vent here and don't waste your energy on her or the shit she did. Be bigger than the situation I guess.

haha thanks for the advice. personally, i am being the bigger person, moving on with my life, and taking it as a life lesson. there are a whole lot of things i would rather do or say, but it isn't worth my time.

It's probably too late now since your mom threw out her stuff but it might have been fun to package them up as presents, bows and all and have them delivered to her with a note that says...

"Dear roommate,
I know how much your things meant to you since you kept them for so long so I'm sending your things to you. I hope you enjoy having them around again as much as I did. I seem to be missing some important items and you seem to have left your key behind. As soon as I find my things, I'm sure your key will turn up somewhere.

It also would have been fun to give her an itemized bill (not that she'd pay it but still it would have been fun).

I wouldn't waste the money or the energy to do that, I'd consider it a lesson learned, be the bigger person, and move on with my life. Although I must admit, being the bigger person sometimes really sucks.
