Calorie help.
Hey everyone,
I want to find out some things about calories.
I have a new aim to get my weight to approx 80kgs - 85kgs
I am currently 71kgs.
What I need to find out is eating 3500 calories a day without exercise enough to gain more weight? Or should I increase this to 4000 calories a day.... And yes I want Fat, not muscle.
Would eating, lets say 2 Big macs at a total calorie count of 550 calories each = 1100 calories the same as eating 3 servings of Quick Oats at a calorie count of 383 cal per 100 grams?
I find that Quick Oats are a heck of a lot cheaper, 0.99c for 750 grams compared to around $4.00 for a Big mac.
So are they the same calorie wise? I know Oats are a lot healthier then a Big mac but Which would I gain the more weight from?Never Argue With Idoits. They Will Drag You Down To Their Level, And Beat You With Experience.

So you want to GAIN fat? You actually want to eat unhealthy? well then fast food is definatly the way to go. Regular soda, whole milk, milk shakes are some good weight gaining drinks, along with a little bit of clogged arteries and a heart attack on the side
Gaining weight is harder than loosing it, but its also pretty dangerous, depending on how you do it. I would go talk to a doctor for the safest way. Good luck.

Yeah I agree with Rob on this one, going on a fastfood diet is an easy way out if you wanna end up with heart problems, talk to your doctor first. Or you can just go on a kebab diet like I did when I was back home in sydney..lol, I gained about 10-15 pounds in the 3 months I stayed with my family.

I would say eat healthy fats like nuts and that sort of thing. Big Macs will put on the pounds but that is very unhealthy fat.

Only an idiot would want to add fat by way of shit food thats going to bring health problems with it. I can't see why anybody would want to add fat anyway. Are you one of those skinny people that wants to be bigger and would rather add scale weight by any means than do what is necessary to add some muscle if more size is what you want?

If you had read the Post correctly you would have understood that I was ASKING would eating Quick Oats be the same as eating a Bigmac, Calorie wise.
I would prefer Quick Oats over a Bigmac any day and that is what I was asking; would eating, lets say 2 Bigmacs at a total calorie count of 550 calories each = 1100 calories the same as eating 3 servings of Quick Oats at a calorie count of 383 cal per 100 grams?
Do you understand now that I have no intentions of eating mass amounts of Bigmacs? I just wanted to know are the serving sizes the same, calorie wise.
I also wanted to know would I gain more weight from eating Bigmacs compared to Quick Oats... Is the a difference or not.

If you want to pork up I'd go with the big macs. You can arrive at the same calorie count in a variety of ways as each macronutrient has its own calorie breakdown per gram. Generally fatty and carbohydrate laden foods are worse for you. By your own statement you don't care about any of that, you want to add pudge, so go with the bigmacs. Get them off the dollar menu and eat a few of them. You could even document your declining health as you do it, oh wait, thats already been done.
