Meet our new addition

Meet Sig, our new puppy. We went to the fair yesterday and when we went to the children's barnyard they had all these different animals for sale. Now for the past 2-3 months I have been telling BEK that we are not getting a dog. But when I saw her I looked at him, he looked at me and I nodded and said "Let's get her". So we did. She's basically been lazy and sleepy since we got her, but she is very very cuddly. And she has been very good about going outside to potty

That is a horrificly cute pup. I have a black lab pup myself named Zoe. She's a handful. Be prepared to not sit still as they love attention!
I've found that a laser pointer is a good tool to invest in. She will chase that dot all day.

Thanks everyone! I am starting to think she knows how cute she is! I am not a big fan of dogs, as you could probably tell from my above post but she is so good. We are not really sure what she is, as she is a mix of something, BEK is thinking lab and pit bull, I think. The FFA kids were the ones that we got her from and they said they had rescued her from the pound, with some others, and were just wanting to send them to good homes.

We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

Congratulations! What a great dog. She definately looks like a lab mix. Make sure you buy lots of chew toys. All puppies, and labs in particular, love to chew. It might also help to "rotate" the toys so she doesn't get bored with them.
Also, as she gets bigger, watch out for "counter surfing." My white German shepherd took a bottle of prescription pills of fthe kitchen counter when she was about a year old and ended up getting rushed to the hospital and having her stomach pumped.
Have fun. She looks wonderful!

She is adorable!

A Smile
A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.
It enriches those who receive it,without making poorer those who give.It takes but a moment, but the memoryof it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that hecan get along without it,and none is so poor but thathe can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,or stolen, for it is something that is of novalue to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.Give them one of yours, as none needs a smileso much as he who has no more to give.
