New Mac Computer...
Today I finally bought a new computer and went with a new Mac. All I have to say is...wow! This thing is amazing.
Anybody else own a Mac?
I don't think I'll ever go back to a regular computer with windows, this blows it out of the water!
I also got a nice deal and got a free Ipod and printer (after rebates). Tomorrow I'm getting a new cell phone and then maybe later this week a new GPS system for my car! Am I going through some sort of life crisis?!

I keep thinking about buying a Mac. I played with one at Best Buy and I liked it. I have been using Windows so long I dont know if I could adjust. How easy is it to get used to the Mac platform vs Windows?

It takes a little time to learn how to do everything, but luckily I have a friend who knows like everything about them so he taught me a lot. Now that I've gotten used to it, I find it so much easier than Windows. There's so many great features that it has that I won't even begin to explain that makes it better also, in my opinion. So far I have no complaints!

The only downer is the lack of programs that are Mac compatible....lazy azz software companies!

For those who have some Windows apps you just can't live without or just want to keep Windows for whatever reason, you can run Windows and the Mac OS at the same time on a Mac.
Two products that I know of allow you to do this and from what I've heard they work extremely well these days, especially on the iNTEL based Macs. Parallels seems more popular and maybe a bit easier to setup while VMware allows for better performance.

Same here, my laptop is almost 4 years old now and she's just starting to wear out. I don't use a lot of specialized programs, but the ones I do use I kind of need. I haven't had any problems with this laptop, but way back on the day I learned about computers on an AppleII and I find myself missing the basic user-friendly platform.

Not to ruin the thread here, but i bought a I-Mac for my step son last xmas.
that was the biggest piece of shit that i ever bought.
brand new from the store, and we he opened it for xmas it was already outdated.
i spent another $40.00 for another upgraded operating system for the I-MAc, then found out that the computer that we bought should have been thrown in the trash. It was the oldest model available, and isnt worth nothing.
the Computer Tech said that it would be cheaper just to buy another I-Mac.
Sorry again, to burst any bubbles here, but we had a terrible experience with I-Mac.
It is still sitting in the box. Nothing but a waste of money.
I bought him a dell, which his has had no problems with, and he loves it.YEAH, IM THE BERRIES, AND CHERRIES IN YOUR REAR VIEW MIRROR.

I have a Mac G3. It shouldn't be too hard to adjust since the Windows GUI is based on the MAC GUI. Finding programs for it will be challenging. You'll have better luck online usually. If you can find an Apple store or go on their website you'd probably find more.

Really the only programs I use are Firefox and Microsoft Windows, at least on my laptop.

Yeah there's so many cool programs I've added onto it since I've bought it. Now I just have to transfer all my music and pictures onto it from my old laptop and I'll be good to go.
