Help interpret my dream

I just woke up from a strange dream. I was sitting in a plane. The passengers around me started screaming and crying in terror, claiming that they were cursed or that they saw demons or monsters or that the plane would crash. Some fainted, and one was dead from a heart attack due to his fear. Strangely, I wasn’t afraid, because I thought there was a scientific explanation—perhaps they had psychological disorders, or the wine they had drunk was laced with drugs, or someone was playing a hoax on us.

One passenger pointed in terror at windows on the roof of the plane that showed we were moving through a wooden tunnel rather than the sky. I looked up and saw the wooden planks but remained convinced that it was a hoax or hallucination.

I walked around the plane, talking to passengers and trying to figure out what was going on. I found an eccentric old couple that didn’t seem scared. They claimed to have been my foster parents for several years of my childhood, and showed me photos of me as a child. I thought it was possible they had been my foster parents but misremembered or exaggerated how long I had stayed with them (in real life I did have foster parents for about a week when I was 9, but no longer remember their names or faces). I was trying to persuade them to let me make copies of the photos so I could investigate further when I woke up.

So what could this dream mean?

Well I'm no expert by any means but it would seem that much of your dream is related to what has been in the news as of late; i.e. 9/11 approaching (planes), wooden roof meaning some other form of terroristic attack instead of flight (tunnel scare). Interesting that many around you were clutched in fear, I believe that shows you have a fear of a serious event happening soon and your reaction in the dream, your desire to find a reason for what's happening, parallels that you want what may happen in life to make sense as well.

The foster parents I'm not sure of, possibly a security measure that you had in your dream to ensure you felt safe.

Like I said, I'm no expert but it seems that you have a lot on your mind with what is going on in the news and it's manifesting itself in your dreams.

This is a modified flying dream. You were in a plane rather than free flying - this could be from experience flying or it could be a desire to be with other people.

That others were in pain and dying around you may also be experience based, but I'd venture this is a hopefulness on your part. You wanted to find a way to cure them; this is why you weren't afraid or anxious about the situation.

Your mind couldn't present an immediate fix for the many problems it had created for the passengers so an out was offered. A dream tangent. That you didn't take it is a good reflection on your character.

Ultimately the dream scenario broke down and your mind chose a friendly outcome for it. The disaster is no more now, but a new and different challenge is presented. This challenge is more personal, and it draws on your history to make it more relevant than the previous part of the dream.

All in all, I say, nice dream. I probably would have taken the wooden tunnel, but then I'm more of an explorer than people person.

I actually do fly a lot. If anything happens to one of the planes I'm on, this thread will seem kind of spooky. Of course, knowing Terminator's penchant for extreme jokes of questionable taste, if I die he'll just take over my account and taunt everyone with my "posts from the grave."
