Explorer Section?

Here at LEF we are always looking for new ways to expand and looking for ways to set us a part from the other sites online. We are considering a section for explorers. This section can be in the public area or we can make it an area where only explorers and verified LEO's can go. Give us some input

I chose the first answer since this is an LEO site and the other verified sections are for just that. I'm personally unsure about getting a bunch of kids on here...then again I'm also curious about what all these kids learn in their explorer programs, how it matures them, etc...in which case make it public. Just my opinion. I know if I'd had the chance to be an explorer, I would have jumped for it but no programs were available near me.

I think to protect the kids it needs to be LEO and Explorer only.

Bosco3379 is a Moderator on a police explorers site. If they're all willing to join here, I'd gladly help promote his site.

I'm not sure we have enough Explorers to justify it. In fact, Bosco is the only current Explorer member that I'm aware of.

If it's a restricted area, can we at least allow "retired" Explorers in? I know we have at least two former Explorers here (Autumn and me).

I must say, I most certainly think that this is an exellent idea, however I personally think it would probably be best to have access limited to LEOs and Explorers. The only thing I am curious about is if someone claims to be an Explorer, how can we verify that?

Have them provide the name and department and their advisor. Should be easy.

Bosco, PM me and we will work out the details between your site, and mine. If we made it a private area, we would have to have Explorer verifications.

The best way to do that is to get a flier out to the advisors. I'll create something and run it past you or whoever you designate before I send it out.

I think we need to have an area for those interested in being an Explorer and those that are verified Explorers. Just want to give those that are putting forth the effort a chance to talk with cops. Let those that are interested a chance to introduce themselves and find out more about it.
