Here If You Need Me by Kate Braestrup

I finished this wonderful book about a week ago, and I wanted to spread the word...if you haven't already heard.

Kate Braestrup is the widow of a Maine Trooper who was killed while in the line of duty. His long-term goal was to someday become a minister, and serve as Chaplain to his brothers and sisters in the field.

After he was killed, she decided to follow the path herself, and now serves as Chaplain to the Maine Warden Service.

What more can I say, other then "she gets it." She understands the dark humor, the unique spirituality, and the challenges faced by LEOs.

It's warm, funny, sad, and very real.

I think it's a great read for anyone in Peer Support, and for anyone who is the spouse/significant other of an LEO.
