Thread: Met the Recruiter Today

Well the recruiter called today and told me that I can't get a waiver for my age. I'll now put all my energy into a degree. Once I finish it I'll start applying again.

That really sucks mx, I'm sorry to hear that. Any chance at going back into the Army or maybe another service?

03-13-06, 07:46 PM #23I'm still thinking it over. I could probably get back in the ANG or the Army Reserves. I haven't made up my mind yet. I do know that a degree has been bumped to the top of the list.

Watch the movie Jarhead without your wife there with you. It will give you something to think about.

I'll check the movie out. I almost bought it last weekend but shunned away for the reasons I mentioned.

Good luck with your degree mx! Sorry to hear that your age wasn't waiverable for them.

A Smile
A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.
It enriches those who receive it,without making poorer those who give.It takes but a moment, but the memoryof it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that hecan get along without it,and none is so poor but thathe can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,or stolen, for it is something that is of novalue to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.Give them one of yours, as none needs a smileso much as he who has no more to give.

mxwelch as you and others following this thread know the military life is not for everyone. Especially joining The Few The Proud!! The MOS you were going for is a very dangerous profession. You do know what those engineers do for a living correct? I'm not trying to sound negative but you do have a wife and children at home. I'm proud to be associated with someone like yourself trying to keep our country safe for the commies here that bash the military. Walk tall my friend you did what you had to do and tried your best so there is no shame in your game. Maybe God needs you for something else in this life. Good luck in your search for what ever you are seeking in your life.

03-14-06, 09:29 AM #30The book sure is, I started reading it because the summary sounded interesting. I should have stuck with the summary. The first chapter was nothing but a bitchfest about the government, and I didn't bother reading more.
