Health Reminder
Everyone, please remember to get your FLU Shots this year. Those of you who have school aged children are particularly susceptible to getting the illness. Nothing takes more energy from you that the flu -- well, maybe chemotherapy, but the flu does wear you down.
Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence.

i haven't gotten a flu shot in years. i always hear horror stories of people who don't get flu shots forever...then get them...and end up sick as a dog for a week or two.
its a battle i fight every year, within myself

If people get ill from the flu shot it is one of two reasons:
1. They already have the bug and it popped up coincidentally; or,
2. They have an allergy to the albumin (egg) in the medicine.
You cannot get the flu from getting the shot!
I know more folks who have died from lack of the shot than those who got ill taking the shot. Better to be safe than sorry!Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence.

After the shite I went through in Jan of 2005, I ALWAYS get a flu shot now.
I didn't have the flu, well we don't know what the hell i had, but I couldn't move with out pain, lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks and if I even thought about eating, I would be full already. That sucked enough to make me realize I don't want the flu.

The last time i got a flu shot, the ONLY time I got the flu shot...I got the flu.
I don't care, I'm not going through that again. I've gotten the flu maybe one other time in my entire life.

My reaction to the flu shot was worse that what I go through when I actually DO get it. I'm not allergic to eggs or anything, just the shot made me feel like shit with a sore arm.

500 fights, that's the number I figured when I was a kid. 500 street fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate tough guy. You need them for experience. To develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then, after, you realize that's what you are.

I got my flu shot today.
I told the Dr about my oldest son's reaction to the flu shot. She asked if I brought him to her office. I said yes, we just the saw nurse. She said they aren't doing the kids there...only adults. No one told the nurse that has been administering it for a month now
All vials say for 18yrs and older....so they gave my 11yr old an adult dose......it was too much and that is why he had reaction.
