Federal Air Marshal

Hi,
I'm new to this sight so I hope you guys can help me with my question!
I have been looking all over the web to see what it takes to be a Federal Air Marshall. I found some some stuff, but not a whole lot. If anybody knows, what is it like? What training and other things do you need to be hired?
I'm only in high school and it seems like a really cool job, but id like to know what I'd be getting in to.

Don't forget doing security critiques of airports...

On a serious note, I'd like to hear from some FAMs about what they're job really entails. I've heard various stories but don't know how much credit to give them.

I would be interested as I enjoy flying. Problem is they don't ever seem to be hiring unless you have knee pads.

See I actually LIKE flying in planes, but is that really all they do?

Yea, to actually get somewhere! Flying just to fly would get boring. Plus I get headaches from the pressure change while flying ugh....

A lot of guys were having trouble with their shooting qualification and the rumor got out it was tough.

I've shot it, y'all can pass it with a little practice.

There's one on (Another gun site that has a Cop area). He's single and loves it. I think that would be the kicker. Married, it'd be tough. Single, it'd be awesome.

The only thing that would suck for me is the fact that TSA still boards them before everyone else (unless something has just changed since October). WHY people thought that was a good idea is beyond me.

I think if anyone here is or knows anything about Air Marshall stuff. They should keep it to themselves or verified areas only.

No really, I enjoy flying. The ex worked for an airline before becoming a nurse and we would fly someplace just to have lunch. And I have friends that I sometimes fly with. One flies just to build his hours and I go with him.
