Not an Explorer, but worked as a professional for the BSA for a couple of years. I have established a handful of posts while there. Glad to see you guys in the program.

I'm a former explorer. Was chief of my post two years in High School.

So how many of us are/were in the "command staff" of your post, and what was/is your hardest decision you had to make?
I know I am chief, so there is one. As for the hardest decision I have had to make was the decision to not allow one of my best friends into the post, based on his background check, we (my command staff) saw that he had a several prior accidents, and traffic citations. Our post is trying to project a professional apperence, so I had to make the decision that he had not shown repect for the law, and I would not feel comfortable with him representing the post, or learning about the techniques of law enforcement because I don't know how he would use said techniques.
Any other stories?OPD Explorer Post #2235

He had traffic tickets and accidents so you didn't let him into a freakin explorer post? Real cops often aren't even under that much scrutiny.

Those were just some of the "MINOR" offenses that he had, he also had a possesion charge, as well as a Underage Drinking ticket, this was all before he was 17.
