4 on 4 off 12hrs technically. Usually more then 12 by the time it's all said and done.
Rotate nights/days every 4mo. Technically 0700-1900. But we have to be here by 0545-0600. Unless your on nights.

I work steady nights, 2230 hours to 0700 hours.
Our dept. has permanent shifts, which in a way sucks. I will be on night shift until I have seniority to put in for a different shift. No one has greater love than this, to lay down ones life for ones friends - John 15:13

I work 6pm-6am, our shifts run on a 2 week cycle, one week I work Wed, Thurs the next week I work Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat. Sun. 7 out of 14 days. Great schedule because you can take 2 days off and have a week off.
My dad, I miss him every day.

I work 80 hours per fortnight and I work 10 hour shifts. I don't normally work more than 50 hours in any one week but I have. We are not a response unit and work as required on whatever problem the Region has. There's 5 Regions in the State.
So I might work 0600-1600 one day and 1300-2300 or 1600-0200 the next. I do the roster so there's no surprises for me or my crews. Not getting fatigued & their welfare (and family's) are a corner stone of our roster policy.
We don't work many Sundays which is good as I've got a family.

Mon-Fri, 9-5, weekends and holidays off.

In BIG's las group, technically it was Mon-Fri, weekends and holidays off. But, BIG worked a few weekends, a couple holidays, time was all over the map due to either being called out or handling issues. BIG was beginning to hate his phone.
Rick James hair was synthetic and smelled like weed and coochie.
BIG hates no one, but loves only a few. Franklin, Grant and yeah, Mom too.

6 days on 8.5 hr shift, 3 days off
I am the 10:30p-7a shift
Really nice rotating schedule, have of 1 1/2 weekends a month, but I always love the three days off. (burn 6 days of vac, and you have 12 days off in a row, which is really nice)

I usually work Monday thru Friday 8:00am -4:25pm.
On call 4-8 times a month depending on how many people are taking vacation or how much the schedule Cpl likes you.
I am not required to be on call, however, I put myself on the schedule for experience. I work economic crimes but am on call for criminal investigations (mostly) and major crimes (if needed). Call is sketchy at best..some months you are never home and other months you would swear there was no crime in our county.

3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off. Month of days, Month of nights changing on the 1st wednesday of the month.
Wise men stand behind me, brave men stand beside me, but only fools stand against me.

3-2-2 12 hour days 0600-1800.
If I take the next promotion, I'll be doing a month of days, month of nights for 15 months, and then 3 months were you are off shift but you cover for those who want vacation.

Night shift - 2200 to 0700.
We bid once per year for our shift preference (by seniority). Our schedules are 28-day cycles. We pick what days we want to work and what we want off (work 18 and get 10 off). Once every quarter, we work 17 and get 11 off.The views expressed in the above post are the sole opinion of the author and do not reflect any official position by the author's employer and/or municipality.

Right now my shift is messed up. Mon-0600-1630, Tue: 0800-1830, Wed: 1000-2030, Thu: 1600-0230, with Fri, Sat, Sun off. It's definitely worth it having those days off. We rotate days, night, and swings every 2 months, so right when you get used to it, it changes. I don't sleep much.
It's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
