Under Armour Base 3.0
Any opinions on the Under Armour Base line up? I'm tired of having to wear 3-4 layers and I heard rumor that with the base 3.0, you don't have to. Just wondering if that's true.
Thanks.

I didn't know anything about the new UA base stuff until just now. I like the idea that the fit is a relaxed fit. I don't know if the UA products by themselves would eliminate the need to layer. I am currently wearing UA Cold gear under a Blauer Street Gear Uniform. I haven't spent much time outside of my patrol car tonight, and it is currently 2 degrees outside. For about 25 minutes I feel fairly comfortable in this extreme weather. With a relaxed fit material one would think that there would be more air trapped thus you may remain warmer longer. According to UA's website they want $70 for a shirt. I would say I have mixed feelings about the new UA 3.0 base products.
What if the Hokey Pokey is what it really is all about?

That is the beauty of having a local dealer who follows UA's discount program. MIL, LE and Gov't get a discount from UA.
I have other UA stuff and it does rock, but I just wondered if what the local guy said was true. He was saying that you don't need to wear anything else with the base 3. He is a cop, so maybe he's speaking the truth and not trying to make a sale.

UA is some great stuff, but I have heard Blackhawk and 5.11 are just as good (if not better) and it is usually cheaper (FYI), before going out and dropping a load on just one brand, try a one of each (different body frames, somethings fit better on one person than another)

Good point. Every time I order some 5.11 under gear, twice now, the order has always fallen through. I guess it would help if I ordered it from a more reputable company!

Honestly, I went to REI and spend $70 on some long underwear...no use in the summertime, but definitely a plus during a cold MN winter. REI also has the UA style shirts, which are nice and breathable. You pay for the name, I went for another brand and it works just as good.
