"Do You Remember These?"
I know most of you have no idea what any of these were, but you may enjoy what your parents shared with me.........

Um, sorry most of them I was to young for but I do remember the A&W root beer stands... the old fashion ones where you could buy a gallon jug to take home, that was the best, the A&W now does not taste the same or as good as it did back then!

I'm too young for most of the stuff but I know some of them. They still sell Lucky Strikes... come to think of it, the label is pretty much the same. We also got Cracker Jacks all the time. I hated the taste of them. I definitly remember A&W Drive in places... there is one in Faribault, MN. Sadie Hawkins was also a big thing for us in Jr. High and even in high school we still did them once a year. My sisters and I also had lemonade stands to make money. We used my littlest sister to get people to look at her cuteness and buy a cup.
I went to a Statler Brothers Concert in Mankato, MN a number of years ago. My Dad and I listened to his 8-track tape of them before we went... HAHA.Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood.

Hot Dang!!! I remember all. "We" even had a pea green 55 Chev for the family car. 10 cent cokes, 25 cent to go to the movies...WOW! The good times. Family values, played outside till mother called you in for dinner. Man, I don't post much but this drew a smile for me. Thanks PapaBear,

I don't remember any of the stuff they mentioned. Or maybe they were around and I wasn't paying attention.

I love it whey you reminisce Papabear. I remember a lot of those things. Sadly A&W is now grouped with KFC but we do have an original and still operating A&W hamburger stand complete with carhops on skates (rollerblades now) in Modesto, CA.
Those were the days, I wish they would come back more frequently.

Oh yeah. I also remember A&W and some great times that were had there.
When I lived in central CA in the early sixties, we had one in town, and it was a "must stop" on the way home after a date to pick up a quart of A&W and one of their "sub" sandwiches to take home for a late night snack. (I forget now exactly what they called the sandwich, but I can almost taste one right now. YUM!!)
I also remember just about everything in the video. Dang, I must be getting old.
It sure was a simpler and less stressful time though.

My cousin worked for the local A&W when I was a kid, sometimes we'd stop in and get these tiny little root beer floats, not much bigger than a shot glass, in little tiny keepsake mugs. Wish I still had one.

Definately takes me back to the days,,,,,when life seemed to be alot easier. Maybe more to worry about as I get older but those days always bring back good memories.
