College football...
Who here follows college football. I remember I used to follow it very closely during the 80's and 90's. Was a huge Michigan fan, back in the days of Jamie Morris, Desmond Howard, etc. I even followed their basketball games.."The Fab Five."
Anyways, I stopped following college football few years ago. the games are not as exciting as it used to be. Even how they have arranged the Bowl Games suck. They used to have all the major Bowl games ALL on New Years Day. that was great. Who used to watch the games in the 80s and still follow it now?Don't you just hate it when someone's balls are hidden so well, they can't seem to find it themselves ~ RSA

I would venture to say I know more about college football than anyone on the board. It is the only sport that I follow anywhere close to the intensity that I follow politics.

I used to follow it far more than I do now. In the 80s and early 90s I spent a lot of time in Ann Arbor, I was a diehard Michigan basketball and football fan and went to just about all of the home games for several years. I was also more knowledgeable about college football then and I do remember when all of the major bowl games were on Jan.1, it was an all day and night event.
Now I don't have nearly as much interest and only watch a couple of games faithfully, most notably the Michigan-OSU game.

New Years used to be as big as Christmas and the 4th of July in my family for all the bowl games. Now spreading them out is ridiculous. I think the BCS is shit, but then again, I'm not complaining at the moment. Originally Posted by Resident Smart Ass

The players are not as exciting as they used to be..I remember watching the quarterback from Oklahoma Sooners, I believe his name was Holloway, he was exciting to watch..and the there was Brian Bosworth with the hairdo. then there was Bo Jackson.
The teams that made the games very exciting back then were Notre Dame, Miami, FSU, Oklahoma, Michigan, even OSU..
and now, the games are pretty boring..and the whole thing about spreding out all the bowl games suck ass..and the BCS does suck.

Football doesn't really do much for me. If the Cyclones are playing, I may watch, but I'd rather watch hockey, soccer, lacrosse and motorcycle racing.
