Just drive the piss out of it.
It's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

I share an 05 CVPI with only one other officer, so it's easy to rack ass when the thing gets left dirty, etc. 30k on it, because no one hardly drove it the first year it was in service.

We don't have personal cars.
Our current fleet range from 36,000 to 140,000.
Generally our cars stick around for between 2-3 years before replacement.
The unmarked always rack up the miles the most as they are always out when available.
just waiting on delivery of three new ones, all BMW 530 deisels. One marked tourer and two unmarked saloons(Sedans!)the sole advantage of power is that you can do more good.

Our cars average 85K before they are rotated out of service. They are fleet cars, not individual issued/take home cars either.
Oh yeah, routine maintenance every two months, extra service accomplished within 24 hours as well.
We have a great fleet program and well maintained cars.

I got mine new 14 months ago and it has 45,000 on it. We try and replace them at 100,000 miles. I have seen a few go over that level, but usually they are all beat to hell before they reach 100k.

We have three marked units for patrol. One is at 121k, one is at 172k, and the other is at 203k. The patrol supervisor has a marked take home unit and its at 97k. Not sure what the Sgt, Capt, and Chief's take home cars are at.
