Will voters every decide another election?

It seems that no matter what the election (local, state or federal), the "loser" always seems to file a lawsuit to get the votes recounted, votes excluded, etc., just to they can win.

Now days, it seems that elections are being decided by a judge, not the voters.

I would LOVE to see the two presidential candidates take a stand and say, "The voters will speak", but I won't hold my breath.

    What's your take on it?

When I was taking Government class in high school and learning about the Electoral College, I kept raising my hand and asking the teacher, "but what if there's a perfect tie?" My teacher always rolled her eyes and sighed. Now I want to track her down and say "I told you so"!

I think the electoral college sucks.

    And so do politicians.

Every state sets their own rules for running elections, and they are all open to abuse.

Election fraud is as old as Thingmoot.

This country was never intended to be a democracy, and for a damn good reason.

We have not achieved a perfect tie in the electoral college, but if it were to occur the House would elect the President following a 41 day period in which each candidate could attempt to get an elector to switch sides.

I guess my biggest issue with it all is when someone goes to court and tries to get votes thrown out for some asinine reason, or another. The 2000 Florida drama is a perfect example. Just how far does the "chad" have to be hanging out before it's a legit ballot?

That shit is just stupid. Common sense isn't so common anymore.

    +1 to jmur

Plus, this just adds to the already ignorant, litigation-happy society this country has become.
