BBQ.
in Michigan, a 'BBQ,' is something you grill a steak on.
apparently in North Carolina, it is an actual meal.

and a DAMN good one. Went to the same place two nights in a row, and might go back before i leave. thats some GREAT food.
oh, and the ladies talk sexy-like around here

Yeah, when I moved to N.C. I thought the same thing too, Ender. What place did you eat at?
I know all about the southern talk. That's how JRae talks.

Grillin is where you cook a steak
BBQ is like you said, a meal... and the meat is generally slow cooked over a long period of time to give it the tenderness and flavor.
Damn you just made me hungry and I cant do anything about it, you bastard! (Great pic, mmmmmmm)

don't feel bad...soon I'm headed back to the land where if you order a bbq sandwich, they look at you like you're nuts.
also, for the first time in my life, i saw a Sonic. They advertise like hell in southern Michigan, but there are none to be found (I assume its a regional advertising contract), and until yesterday i really didn't believe they existed
I'm going to eat there between now and Friday, mainly just to say that I did

I was in Winston-Salem a buncha years ago for a training conference, and one night they had a "BBQ" for us.
They served us some kind of beef that looked like it had been cut up with a paper shredder and covered it with some kind of BBQ sauce. I think most of it ended up in the dumpsters. Not to bash NC, but they sure messed that meal up - BAD.
Have to say that the rest of the meals they served during the week were a lot better.
Now if you want some REAL BBQ, come on down to Swamp Mafia country. We can show you a BBQ that IS a BBQ.
We'll even furnish the CRAB (Cold Refreshing Adult Beverage for those that might not know what CRAB is).

Nuff said. The original in T-town, ummm Tuscaloosa, AL for you non Alabamastanians, only served ribs and white bread. People didn't drive from other states for the bread. Another thing, BBQ is usually cooked using indirect heat. For the record, if I ever make it to retirement I plan on becoming a master in the art of BBQ.
