I've never fished, don't know how.
I should learn for when the food system breaks down.

Fishing sucks (to me). I don't get fun out of sitting in a boat holding onto a fishing pole for hours waiting for a fish to bite the hook so I can pull him up, look at him, and throw him back in. Seems kind of retarded to me.

The only thing worse is watching people fish on TV.

whenever i hear the word bassmaster
all i can think of is the old saturday night live skit
omg i loved that skit.... the bassomatichttp://www.allpoetry.com/Grunts%20Girl
We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

The Classic was held in my jurisdiction last year. Some of you may hate fishing but he Hooters girls made it worth it.
Meanwhile, fishing in Russia:

I love fishing - It sucks to fish off the bank, but I love to fish in a boat. Of course when I had my boat, I would drive all over Lake Lewisville just exploring around, as much as I fished.
Tell you the truth, I enjoy fishing for bream and pearch more than fishing for bass. Bass are finicky, so you can go all day without even getting a nibble - but bream and pearch are hungry little bastards. I can go by the marina wave break in Lake Lewisville, and drop a hook in betweek the tires with almost ANYTHING on it - worm, kernel of canned corn, hot dog bit, it doesn't matter - Within 10 seconds, the bobber will dissapear. One time I caught 70 or 80 of them in one day, and ate 'em all!
They also taste better than bass - But I eat bass too. Damn if I'm gonna go to all that trouble just to throw 'em back!!!
But WATCHING someone else fish is like watching paint dry. Some sports like fishing, golf, tennis, shooting and bowling were never intended to be spectator sports!

I like to fish marshy areas in south LA for Redfish and Trout. I also like to fish for catfish at the Reservoir here. Bowfishing for anything is a blast, but it's not really "fishing".

Funny you post this.
Im leaving at 0500 to go to the Bassmaster to support one of our Deputies that is fishing in the Classic. As of right now he is in 8th place.
I really dont care for fishing but since this is the "Superbowl" of fishing I'm going to support him.

Well he finished 17th for the first day.
I also like Terry Scroggins as he came up here to deer hunt in Nov. and is a hell of a nice guy. He even called me on my cell when he was on his was the the Classic."And don't go home, and don't go to eat, and don't play with yourself. It wouldn't look nice on my highway", Buford T. Justice

I go trout fishing at a couple of beaver ponds I hike into. Nothing better than sitting there with food, beer and watching the beaver and otters swim by. I've even had bears show up a few times. I always get my limit and have a great time.
