I think links to particularly interesting threads and posts (e.g. countybear rants), might attract new members and gain more interest among existing members who don't currently visit the site very frequently. Really addicted members like me are interested in just about every thread, but members who are not so addicted might appreciate having the more interesting threads highlighted on the front page, as it might draw their attention to the fact that there are really some interesting threads even if they are not yet addicted enough to wade through all the random stuff (like my bad jokes
) to get to them.
Maybe more law enforcement product reviews, arranged in some organized way (as ZDnet and Cnet arrange computer product reviews), and links to threads about them, would be useful for attracting new members and getting existing low-activity members to check the site more often as well. They might help increase search engine hits, and also help the authorized vendors (with links to the products on their vendor sites). I personally don't find law enforcement product reviews interesting because I don't use or understand the products reviewed, but I imagine the LEOs who are the main target audience might be more likely to find the site through search engines if there are a set of organized product reviews on the front page. Even if some of the threads about equipment are in restricted areas, linking to them might alert LEOs to their existence, and thus encourage them to register and become verified.

Term,
I have a couple of suggestions....
Since the name change to Officer Resource, build the site into a reliable resource to attract more users..
Up at the top where it now highlight the tabs/choices put a section for "recent case law", "equipment review", "firearms", "links".
Of course they wouldn't have to verbatim, but I again say, make the site a resource,, not so much a forums site.
As far as I am concerned the radio and arcade tabs could be made accessible elsewhere after members log on.
That's my .02 for now.
To be a good Law Enforcement Officer you MUST know the law!

I like the case law link, thats a good idea.
also, the map that we had going, try to make it easier for our members to view. Alot of people im sure dont even no about it.YEAH, IM THE BERRIES, AND CHERRIES IN YOUR REAR VIEW MIRROR.
Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
Eat it, Play with it, or piss on it, and walk away!
As smart as man is, we haven't been able to invent a machine that can smell drugs or tell us where a person has walked,” Dogs are sophisticated investigative tools!

Thanks for the input, Al. We've absolutely moved into becoming a total law enforcement resource as opposed to just forums. We have some great ideas for the future, and we're hoping to get some great ideas from our members. Some of the changes we'll make are going to take place slowly, and over time. I know I've said it before, but all of this costs money...and quite a bit of it. We'll have a few advertisers (like Baumshoe) on our main page to help off set site costs. The only way this will work though is if you guys visit the main page and look at stuff on it.
So if you really want to help us, and the site, the best advise I can give all of you is to visit the main page.
Keep the ideas coming.

We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

I like the case law idea. That is excellent.
What about a section that has links to state's criminal statutes?

Each states sites where common forms can be found and printed if you find yourself short and without any on you... but like me have a printer in car...
Such as incident reports etc...
