Earth Hour tonight at 8 pm
"On March 29, 2008 at 8 p.m., join millions of people around the world in making a statement about climate change by turning off your lights for Earth Hour, an event created by the World Wildlife Fund. Earth Hour was created by WWF in Sydney, Australia in 2007, and in one year has grown from an event in one city to a global movement. In 2008, millions of people, businesses, governments and civic organizations in nearly 200 cities around the globe will turn out for Earth Hour. More than 100 cities across North America will participate, including the US flagships–Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix and San Francisco and Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.
We invite everyone throughout North America and around the world to turn off the lights for an hour starting at 8 p.m. (your own local time)–whether at home or at work, with friends and family or solo, in a big city or a small town.
What will you do when the lights are off? We have lots of ideas."

Better not. I'm playing in a concert tonight and I can't read the music with the lights off.

If we can aim it at the satellite they are going to use to film their "Earth Hour" images, it will help make the necessary counter-statement.

I'm going to turn on all the lights and every electric device in the house. Then I'm going to let both cars idle in the driveway for no reason. Then I'll be spraying flourocarbons off the deck just for good measure.

Just tried to Google something. They have a black screen and a message- "We've turned out the lights- now it's your turn" Earth day.

I may try it, it's not like I don't have a lot of candles around anyhow. I'll enjoy my veal by candlelight.

Doesn't look like many people turned their lights out. lol. If I wasn't going to be driving at 2000L, I'd turn everything on, and for good measure, the same at the FD and with all the vehicles. One volcano "hiccup" puts more global warming gases into the atmosphere then humans ever have. How bout we ban them instead? haha

Not only will I have every single light on in my house, I plan to fire up the washer, the dryer, and the furnace.
Just for shits and grins, I will also be firing up my diesel generator and powering 8 500 watt work lights to illuminate my back yard.
