Happy César Chávez Day!
Happy César Chávez Day!

"César Chávez Day is a state holiday in California observed on March 31, in remembrance of Cesar Chavez's birthday, or the appropriate Monday or Friday nearest that date. The state holiday is intended to promote service to the community in honor of Chavez's life and work. All state government offices, community colleges, and libraries are closed, except for K-12 schools. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger suspended observance of the holiday in 2004 and 2005 to save money during the aftermath of the power crisis. Chavez Day is currently a holiday in eight states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Michigan, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin. [1]."

Yeah, and now his grandson is pushing for a FEDERAL HOLIDAY in recognition of Cesar.
Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence.

OH GOODY!!! Just another holiday that I won't have to go into work. Give me a break. Pretty soon we will have a holiday for Joe Blow down the street cause he picked his nose and flicked a booger and someone thought it was important enough to recognize. Don't we have enough holidays already?

Apparently not to some people. Maybe because we now have Martin Luther King Day (Jan 19), other groups want theirs, too. True, MLK and Chavez did a lot for their respective causes but where do we draw the line?
Choose The Right. When you're doing whats right, then you have nothing to worry about.
