What would you do if you arrested someone claiming to be a time traveler from the future for trespassing (because the time machine deposited him where he shouldn't have been)? He doesn't have any ID or concrete evidence of being from the future, but he does accurately predict major historical events such as wars and election outcomes.

Oh my God Jenna you are out there on this one. We have seen these folks, some wear aluminum hats or cover their windows so the other aliens can't see what they are up to. This scenario is played out everyday. Hell I have met Jesus Christ at least four times and God more that that. Mankind is doomed any way in 5 billion years the sun will explode.

How would you know his predictions are accurate while you are standing there on the property deciding whether to arrest him?

then don't you think he'd be able to predict his happy ass getting arrested? and come a little more prepared? like maybe focusing on the officer's name? or something else pertinent...

Chances are, I'd have to actually witness this person trespassing..which would entail me looking up from my magazine or getting the doughnut out of my face for more than 3 seconds. Those are things I am not willing to do. So, more than likely, I would never even see the theoretical time traveler...I guess for me it's more of a "if a tree falls in the woods" question.

It's election night, and just before leaving your patrol car, you heard on the radio that exit polls showed John McCain had won by a tiny margin. The time traveler says it will turn out that Hillary Clinton won despite what exit polls said, and the the US would also declare war on Iran. Another officer shows up an hour later and says that she heard on the radio a minute ago that Hillary Clinton had just won, and that the US had just declared war on Iran.

Well he only knows what an average citizen of the future would learn from high school history books (and also things are so messed up in the future that he barely had time to study history in between working for the resistance and escaping from the cyborgs that were trying to Terminate him

). Routine arrest reports don't usually make the history books.
